Independent, Multi-Brand Hearing Aid Care

Colorado Hearing is an independently owned hearing-care clinic. Because we are not limited to one manufacturer, we can recommend prescription hearing technology based on your needs rather than a single brand or product line.

We currently fit and program hearing aids from:

  • Oticon
  • Phonak
  • ReSound
  • Signia
  • Starkey
  • Unitron
  • Widex

Each manufacturer offers different styles, technology levels and listening features. Instead of asking patients to choose a brand on their own, we explain the available options and help determine which solution best matches their hearing evaluation, lifestyle and budget.

How We Select and Fit Prescription Hearing Aids

Your care begins with a comprehensive hearing evaluation. The results help us understand the type and extent of your hearing loss, speech understanding and the situations in which hearing is most difficult.

Your fitting process may include:

  • A review of your hearing needs, lifestyle and budget
  • Selection of the appropriate prescription hearing technology
  • Programming based on your hearing evaluation
  • Real-ear or in-situ verification when appropriate
  • Sound balancing and speech-discrimination adjustments
  • Customization for voices and listening environments that matter to you
  • Selection of the appropriate earpiece style, fit and ventilation
  • Ongoing adjustments and periodic refitting

Patients receive a standard one-week, no-obligation trial. Treatment periods vary by the technology selected. Premium and advanced hearing aids typically include three years of care, while basic or entry-level options may include one- or two-year treatment periods. Follow-up care is provided as needed, with complete refitting appointments at least every six months during the treatment period.

Experience That Supports Better Hearing

Brian Bennett has worked in hearing care and served patients in Montrose since 2010. He is a Board Certified Hearing Specialist and Colorado-licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser who has fitted more than 1,000 patients and completed more than 10,000 hearing-aid programming, adjustment and reprogramming services.

This experience is especially valuable when a hearing aid needs more than a basic adjustment. Programming can be refined around speech understanding, background noise, familiar voices, tinnitus concerns and other real-world listening challenges.

Help With Hearing Aids Purchased Elsewhere

You do not need to have purchased your hearing aids from Colorado Hearing to receive help. We can usually evaluate, clean, adjust, reprogram or repair hearing aids from all major manufacturers, including many older and discontinued models.

Most cleanings, calibrations, refittings and common repairs can be completed during one clinic visit unless replacement parts or manufacturer service are required. Loaner hearing aids may be available when a device must be sent to the manufacturer. Learn more about our hearing-aid repair and reprogramming services.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hearing Aids

Which hearing aid brand is best?

There is no single brand that is best for every patient. The right choice depends on your hearing loss, speech-understanding needs, lifestyle, preferred features, comfort and budget. Because Colorado Hearing works with several major manufacturers, recommendations can be based on your individual needs.

Does Colorado Hearing provide over-the-counter hearing aids?

No. Colorado Hearing focuses on professionally selected, fitted and verified prescription hearing aids for adults with hearing loss.

Can you adjust hearing aids purchased from another provider?

Usually, yes. We work with all major hearing-aid manufacturers and can often reprogram, adjust or repair devices purchased elsewhere. Some privately labeled or rebranded devices may have programming restrictions.

How often should hearing aids be adjusted?

Hearing and listening needs can change over time. Adjustments may be recommended when speech becomes less clear, background noise is difficult, the physical fit changes or your hearing changes. Patients in an active treatment period receive care as needed and complete refitting appointments at least every six months.

What happens if my hearing aid needs manufacturer repair?

If a repair cannot be completed at the clinic, we can coordinate service with the manufacturer. Loaner hearing aids may be available while your device is being repaired.

Get More From Your Hearing Aids
